I have heard from two of you already about this so I am hoping it is true!
The rumor is that starting Wednesday 17th, Kohl’s cash will be back at Safeway. This is how it worked last time:
- You got $10 in Kohl’s cash for every $50 spent at Safeway. I am almost certain it wound up being $50 AFTER coupons.
- The Kohl’s cash can be used like cash at Kohl’s on anything you want. I believe this was a catalina coupon that printed at the register.
- It did exclude gift card purchases.
Also, the last time this was limited to just a handful of markets- I believe Northern California, Colorado and the Northwest were all included.
So I have not received anything from Safeway yet to confirm this but I certainly have my fingers crossed! Let us know if you have seen any promotional materials on this and I guess we will see on Wednesday when the ads roll out!

This is true for my area – I went to my Safeway on Saturday and they gave me a flyer about this. I live in the SF Bay Area – it was the Alamo Safeway. It did not say before or after coupons. I think it was going to run Wednesday-Sunday.

It’s true! Here in Nor-Cal I had a catalina printed with that exact reminder. Sounds like a great deal!
I just got my safeway ad in the mail and it’s true. The deal runs from 3/17 to 3/21.

I just saw signs outside the Ygancio Valley Rd. Safeway in Walnut Creek, CA (NorCal) promoting the Kohl’s deal. They had purple balloons and signs out in the parking lot.
Yes! I got something advertising this promotion on Sunday at Safeway ….it came out with my coupons from the register. I live in Rocklin, CA (Sac. area)
I live in Chicago and the promotional ad for the sale was wrapped around my Sunday paper yesterday so it is true. There weren’t many details other than for every $50 you spend you receive $10 in kohl’s rewards which act like cash.
I got my ad today. The promotion is running from March 17 – 21 only. The Kohl’s rewards must be redeemed in store only from March 22 – April 3, 2010.

Yea, I got a catalina today at Safeway advertising the $10 Kohl’s rewards for every $50 you spend at safeway. The date says it’s from March 17 – 21st. 🙂

I got a printed receipt from the cash register a day or two ago. It say Mar. 17 – 21. And it’s the spend $50 get a $10 Kohls rewards.

I’m in the Modesto, CA area and we are getting this, too! Woo hoo!!!! My 13-yr-old daughter needs a dress for 8th grade graduation (Kohl’s) – so we are motivated to shop Safeway this time. ;0)
