Alrightly ya’ll- those of you that are seasoned doubles shoppers know that Kmart usually has some extra hoops to jump through. Those of you that are new to this- it is fun and usually worthwhile but they really make you work for your deals!
Here is the monkey wrench that Kmart is tossing out this time around:
You have to sign up for a Shop Your Way Rewards card from Kmart. It is not a credit card and it is free.
The card will need to be used if you want to double coupons at Kmart the week of April 4th. It will also track how many you use, so the 5 coupon limit per day will be enforced.
I would recommend signing up for this now if you think you want to do the doubles event. It says the card will arrive in the mail in 3-4 weeks and you can print a temporary card to use in the meantime.
Also, I try to stay upbeat and positive on MFA but I do want to warn you when I signed up for the last Kmart Rewards deal (the ChaChing card) it was a disaster. The stores had no idea what it was and could not scan it and I wound up throwing it away. So my hope is that Kmart has any glitches with this new program all ironed out by the time we hit the stores!
Personally I have shopped doubles events numerous times and I always try to look at it as an adventure and have a sense of humor with the process. I am very pleased that they do not seem to be enforcing a minimum purchase amount this time around.

I thought I saw that you can get the cards in the stores? I *think* that’s what I saw last time I was there, but didn’t really care about it at the time. Man, do I care now, LOL!
Are you planning on doing any match-ups for K-Mart doubles?
I just got my card today at Sears – if they explained it correctly you get 1% of purchases back as a reward to spend at their family of stores – including Lands End which is why I was at Sears to begin with…
You can get these at the store without having to wait for it in the mail. Currently, they are very aware of the program and pushing it at each register. Also, I am wondering if they are going to use it to monitor the 5 a day. That is something to ponder.

I signed up online for the card a couple of months ago and have won 2 or 3 1 liter gingerale, a renuzit, and a 20 ounce soda plus have like a dollar earned so far.
Hi – here in El Paso Texas the ShopYourWay Rewards cards are in the store – u sign up – it is Free – and they hand u the Card along with two Key tags – no waiting – El Paso has never – that i know of – participated in the Double Coupon Days – I emailed KMart and received a reply that Texas is participating this time so I am excited – Luv Your Site – Zelda
I got my K-mart rewards card right in the store where I shop the last time I was there. They had them at the register like most grocery stores do. As for the cash back rewards, not sure how those work yet.
I have never done Kmart doubles because the stores around me have not participated. I’m excited to get the opportunity to try it out. I have read a lot of people are upset because it is a 5 coupon limit, but for those of us who aren’t able to double (or triple) coupons this is really exciting. Thanks for all of your hard work!
No doubles for my Kmart 🙁 but you can actually sign up for the card in store. I did.
When I went to Kmart last week, I asked an employee if they knew anything about this event. When she called the manager, they gave this information as well. I asked how to get the Shop Your Way card and signed me up for one right there. I got a keychain and regular card and there was also a sticker to place in your wallet just in case you forget your cards.
Is the card one per family and or is there an age limit? Could I get family members cards so I could give them my coupons to get more savings. Would they know its family if I did?
I have the Kmart rewards card. It can also be used at Sears. I have used it once since I got it and the cashier asked me for it before I could tell them I had one. I didn’t have the card with me and they were able to punch in my phone number and look up my number. I can’t wait for this doubles event! This is the first time a store in my city is participating!
both my husband and i have our own rewards cards… Just an idea, ya know… If you are going to do some doubles shopping, you can make it a family affair 😉
we have had that card for awhile. We are able to double 2 coupons worth up to $2 a day with the card currently. The sale will allow us to do more I guess. So far we haven’t had a hard time using it.
Well, it seems we’ve already overwhelmed the system and it is down. “Please try again in a few minutes.”

In the past, I have driven 30 minutes to do a KMart doubles event. If they choose to restrict my purchases to 5 coupons doubled, they have lost a customer. Stupid on their part.
Isabeau- I always do a long list of matchups. I might try to get it extra early in case people want to buy coupons

I got my rewards card right in the store. I used my rewards to the other day with a sale and the connect 4 coupon to get my son SpongeBob Connect 4 for free! I’m excited our Kmart is actually participating in the double event.
The email I received from Kmart when I inquired about doubles said nothing about needing this. Maybe a regional requirement?
