I thought this was a really clever idea that I saw posted a few weeks ago on Centsible Sawyer. She ordered freezer pop molds from Amazon and used them for her baby to relive teething!
I thought it was so smart and I have a little one that is teething too! PLUS it gets pretty toasty in California in the summer and my toddler loves popsicles. I always have extra fruit in the freezer and I was thinking this would be a great way to not only control what she is eating but also very cost effective as I can use up all our extra fruit instead of throwing it away.
On top of that I seem to be finding incredible deals on juice constantly now- we have quite a few bottles of Juicy Juice, V-8 and Mott’s and my little one almost never gets juice to drink. So finally a clever idea to use up the free and cheap juice I have on hand!
I ordered the Jewel Pop molds and I have to say they are the perfect size for little fingers but they did not hold up well. They actually broke since the plastic is super hard. I would recommend looking at some of the other molds instead but we did puree bananas and made little popsicles really fast. I also tried Juicy Juice and it turned out perfectly!
You can see several different molds HERE if you want to try this as well!
The Tovolo molds are great! They are very sturdy and well-made!!
I just ordered mine…I can’t wait to make smoothie pops with the kids this summer~
I was just thinking about this the other day. now to find a decent mold…most of the ones on amazon got bad reviews for one reason or another.
Thank you for posting this! This is a great idea. My son loves popsicles too, and I like to get him the edy’s whole fruit ones but they are about $4 a box. We make smoothies all the time and usually have a little left over that I could make healthy popsicles out of, basically for free. I looked at some of the options on amazon and they are kind of expensive, but I did see that some are eligible for the 4-for-3 promotion, so they could be a pretty good deal if you need some other items from amazon.
I just got a Zoku maker and it is awesome makes them in 7 minutes!!!!
The Tupperware mold works great. My mom gave me the one from when I was a kid so it is still holding up after 30 years.
Another great idea is to use the small bathroom sized paper cups. great size. We like to put fruit in them and then fill it up with yogurt. Great tasting and nutricious.
I got my molds from ikea for $2 last year they work perfectly. I use V8 fusion which is great for there vegetable intake too. I bought 60 during the BOGO sale last week at publix. People were looking at me like I was crazy but at $1 a bottle I was laughing. Bring on Summer!
I got some cut little molds from the dollar spot at Target last spring, I would think they’ll probably be back before to long. They’ve stood up to my toddler for the past year for only a buck, can’t beat that
Wow- great idea! we have a teething baby too and the fruit chillers tubes are a favorite with him (bought em with COUPONS!)
The Kidco ships free with prime and has great reviews…
