As I mentioned last week, my friend Kathy and I will be bringing you a beginners series for Walgreens and CVS each week.
If you are new to drugstore shopping this should provide some very easy ideas to familiarize yourself with these stores. Once you get going I am hopeful that your confidence will increase and you will be stocking up on free products every week.
So here is this week’s CVS ideas thanks to $30 Weekly Grocery Challenge.
Deal Scenario #1
Ear Rinse $7.99, Get $7.99 ECB back (limit 1)
Buy 1 Ear Rinse = $7.99
Pay $7.99 + tax
Get Back $7.99 in Extracare Bucks (these will print right on your receipt and can be used at store credit)
Final Price: Free (Since this is not a moneymaker and you will need to pay tax, I would only purchase this if it is an item you need or you can donate.)
Deal Scenario #2
Colgate Max Fresh Toothpaste $2.99, Get $2 ECB (limit 1)
Buy 1 Colgate Max Fresh = $2.99
Use $1/1 Colgate Max Fresh Toothpaste coupon from January All You Magazine
Or Use $0.75/1 Colgate Toothpaste coupon from 2/21 Smart Source Insert
Pay: as low as $1.99 + tax
Get Back $2 Extracare Bucks
Final Cost: Free
Deal Scenario #3
Mennen Speedstick Deodorant $2.99, Get $2 ECB (limit 2)
Buy 1 Mennen Speedstick* = $2.99
Pay: $2.99 + tax
Get Back $2 Extracarebucks
Final Cost: $0.99
*The limit is 2 on the Speedstick. So you can do a second transaction if you want:
Buy 1 more Speedstick at $2.99
Use $2 ECB that you got from the first transaction
Pay: .99 and Get another $2 ECB back!
Let me know how it worked out last week and I want to hear how it goes this week too! Be sure to ask any questions below- once you get started at CVS you are going to be addicted!

for those of us who aren’t really beginners, will you still be posting the regular weekly deals like before?
Charlene says
Courtney I posted those on Thursday. They are right here:

For the items that have a limit of two…last week the Crest toothpase/rinse had a limit of two, so I did both in one transaction and it DID print both ECB onto my receipt.
It was a great deal for me because they were on sale for #3.50 each with $3.50 ECB each AND I had exactly two $2 off coupons. This made a $4 moneymaker.
