Comments on: Walgreens Deals 1/31-2/6

I went to Walgreens last night (Sacramento) and the Huggies Wipes were not $2.50 they were to $3.25. I only seen the Pampers for $2.50 which are on the Ad. Was this this just on some stores?

I know it is frustrating. My only answer to you is abide by their rules or find a new place to shop. There just isn’t much you can do if that is the policy a store wants to implement.

The Dulcolax was in the ad in print- if they still won’t honor that than I just don’t know what to say! I have found when you complain to corporate they just send you back to the store with your complaint and that gets you no where. So really I just don’t have any advice for you. I guess you can try to get around it if you really, really want to shop at Walgreens. You can go through and do your transaction with coupons. If the RR doesn’t print just go on your way and then when you get home you can call catalina and see if they will mail you the cat. That seems like a lot of extra bother so it is up to you!

I went to two Walgreen’s this week in Modesto,CA and was told by two managers that…
the RR’s woouln’t print if I did either of these things
and that it was a new policy:

1. used coupons that brought the total below the threshold,
i.e. using the Pepsi buy $20 offer….if my total was below
$20 after coupons…i woudn’t print…

this happened to me on the ducolax/alka seltzer/tums…RR offer

the mgr had to print the RR for me after much delay and discussion
(he made a transaction that he voided after just to get it to print!)

2. At both stores they inform me that I couldn’t use RR on any
transaction where I was earnng a new RR…

blaaaahh… not just the rule about “don’t reuse a pepsiRR on
another pepsi purchase….” but can’t use any type RR ona
transaction for any RR… I also was not violating the two many coupons/RR vs the number of items purchased!

For example, I bought 4 gatorades for $5 each (product is part of the pepsi RR promo)…. that equals 20!!! I had no gatorade cpns.
I added a fller.
I tried to pay with a non-related RR from the previous week…
NO GO!

Explanation… they have changed the system so it won’t print out a
new RR if you use an RR to pay for it!!!!!

??????? Happened at two stores….same explanation ???????

I did the pepsi/tostitos deal last week. I got the used coupons which brought the amount to less than $20 so the girl, knowing this said I had to have $20 after coupons so I just bought an extra pepsi after the coupons and brought it back to $20 and the catalina printed. We have a new Walgreens in my area Irwin, PA) and they have been super with helping with the catalina’s and coupons. They even said that if it doesn’t print, they would void it and we can start over with getting the right amount of things etc.

On the Huggies deal, where is the coupon in the “Walgreen’s flyer” for $1 off? I looked in the ad as well as the coupno booklet, but I didn’t see it in either. I have a ton of the Safeway coupons and I’d like to buy a bunch of them!

Just FYI – I did use the BOGO coupon w the RR on the Joint Juice and it worked. So I got two boxes of 30 single serve packets. I hadn’t heard of the product either but tried one when I got home and it was good. Mixed berry flavor powder that you add to water – supposed to restore electrolytes, provide vitamins, etc.

Also, there are $3 cpns on the zycam in my store (upstate NY) so it make that product free! : )

If you mean you used the prior $10 Register Reward from Pepsi to buy another Pepsi than yes that is the reason. You might head up to the top and reread the Walgreens posts on Walgreens FAQs and Register Rewards. I think I explained it pretty clearly there.

Thanks for the info on the pepsi deal. I did it a week ago saturday and it did not print out the RR. The cashier told me it was because I used my $10. cat deal to pay for it. Is this true?

Yup- I have to go check that they are still $2.50 though hopefully the price didn't go up. Also for those that will ask I have a picture of the coupon book here- it is only available at Safeway and affiliate stores.

The Safeway coupon book that is back by the pharmacy (yellow/red book with Save up to $26 with these coupons on it) has a $1.00 ANY size Huggies wipes….that makes the tubs $0.50 each!!

I don’t think so. The one that is free is like a big pack and I thought the BOGO was for the single bottles? I am not familiar with these products so if the coupon has a value of $10 or so than you can probably use it to get 2.

I went to Walgreens last night to do the Pepsi deal, I bought 3 12 pks and 4 bags of Stacys Pita chips. I used (3) $1/1 Stacys and the free coupon I got in the mail last week. It didn’t print my RR and the manager said it was because my coupon took the total below $20. I told him that I have done many similar deals and it has always been a precoupon total. Then he told me he couldn’t void out my sale and give me back my money because I used coupons and he couldn’t give me back more money than I paid. Needless to say I left spending more money than I intended to and really frustrated! He took my name and number but I have a funny feeling I won’t be hearing from them. Is there someone I could email or call?

I keep seeing posts that say you can’t use mfg cpns if you want the rr to print. Is anyone else seeing this or can verify it? The last RR deal I did worked even with using the mfg cpns.

If you purchase several items that are eligible for RR, how do you get them? Is each one printed seperately or is it one lump sum? Do you have to do seperate transactions for each RR?
