I ran to Target this morning to make sure the Nivea deal* was working and wanted to point out two other deals I found.
GE lightbulbs were marked down to .84 (regularly $1.69)- there is a manufacturer coupon HERE for $1.50 off any GE lighting product. These were free for me but if they aren’t marked down at your store just .19 after coupon!
Gerber 2pk Sleepers were on clearance for $4.98- I used the $1 coupon HERE and got them for $3.98 (or $1.99 per jammie!)
*Remember the price book I posted earlier today for drugstore items? I frequently hear from some of you guys saying that it is cheaper to just not bother with coupons and buy generic brands. This is a great example because I got 2 Nivea totally free after coupons. I double checked the generic Target brand body wash and I would have spent over $4 for two of those. So most of the time you can get a better quality product for significantly less by matching coupons with sales.
Did they give you the overage on the light bulbs? Or did they adjust the coupon down?
I had a very zealous cashier that typed in exactly .84 🙂 Had I not been in a massive rush I would have grabbed 2 boxes and paid .14- oh well.
I enjoy seeing your shopping runs. I agree. Some people think shopping generic is as cheap as it gets but in reality since I have been couponing, I haven’t bought generic (except almost free Target brand wipes) and paid very little oop for name brand products.
Just a question about this. When you know you are going specifically for something that you are going to get very cheap or free do you buy something else with it? And if you are buying two of the things you will getting free do you do separate transactions? I’m talking specifically Target. I know the answer for walgreens due to the RR’s. Thanks in advance. Well I like to do things they easiest way possible. So yes I usually buy something else just because I find a lot of cashiers feel like you are stealing when you get things free. With that being said, I never waste money on things I don’t need so I won’t just waste money on a random item in order to get something else free. I wouldn’t do separate transactions unless I need too- like if the coupons says one per person or if I am rolling a gift card. I try to be an easy customer 🙂
it amazes me that people think the generic can be cheaper!! I honestly haven’t bought a store brand since i started couponing 2 years ago 🙂

I went to get my deals and some were not what they were posted. That is kind of a bummer sometimes. But I like the Nivea one. I thought it was a small one but it is very large.
What deal wasn’t as posted? The lightbulbs were clearance at .84 and the regular price was $1.69- you should have found one or the other. The Gerber was also clearance. Anytime you see clearance items they will vary from store to store- even two stores next door to each other will not have the exact same items or prices on clearance. You need to keep that in mind for any store you shop at.
Awesome, That’s such a great price on jammies!! And Nivea for free, woohoo! I LOVE Target an ours is not terribly far but I never go there, I go there and can’t go in and just grab the deals, lol. That’s definitely something I am working on this year, it’s no good when I go into a store and get all these things free with coupons but walk out with tons of un needed things. It’s definitely a goal of mine this year to follow your advice better and stick with my lists and get what is needed!! I have been making lists for each store weekly to match what coupons I do have so that I can run into each store quick and grab that deal, sometimes I send hubby but it makes me completely nervous as he’s clueless about it haha. Yay for the Nivea deal! I actually had 3 of the Qs from the newspaper and of course only 2 Target printables, 🙁 but I decided that since I was getting 2 free I could pay $1 for the last one! 😉 So, $12 worth of Nivea (really yummy smelling) body wash for $1~~ love it!!!
