You can see Safeway’s coupon policy right HERE. Most stores will allow you to stack a manufacturer coupon with the store coupons that can be found in the weekly circulars. You will want to be sure to get a club card for Safeway to take advantage of the sale prices! Safeway sale prices tend to vary from region to region so you will always want to double check your local ad! Also, I do not have double coupons in my area so your prices are likely much better than mine!

I’m sorry, but I’m so confused! I thought you could load your card with coupons from cellfire and shortcuts and use those on top of printables? If so, let’s say you’ve loaded the $0.40 coupon from each site, and you use the $1/2 BC fruit snacks, wouldn’t your total be $1.20? I’m terrible with these loadable coupons. Clarification, please!
admin says
Yes. I have been asked to stop recommending people do that so I won’t. But yes you can. Whatever you load will come off when you scan your card and you can also use coupons with that. This is a great way to give the e-coupons a whirl as it is really no lose.
Amy T. says
I have a couple of $0.55 coupons for the sargento cheese slices. I’m thinking maybe they came from All You???? So, I’ll be getting the cheese for $0.94 each! Wahooo!!!
admin says
Ok great Amy- let me look for those.
Kathryn says
Thanks! I was wondering why you put them there, but didn’t say anything about it in the scenario.
Sheila Capell says
I had the same question as Kathryn, thanks for clarifying!! I’m hoping they double up!!
Sheila Capell says
OH, another quick question. To do the fruit snacks is there an id-ad Q that I need to bring with me? I don’t get the ads in the mail yet (new home…SO frustrating)so I need to know if I should grab a friends! Thanks!
admin says
Nope! No coupons needed Sheila!
Sheila Capell says
perfect!! Thanks!
Katie says
Just did the fruit snacks deal, rolled it 3 times and it worked beautifully! Love those Catalinas!!! At my store all of the BC fruit snacks were included and many of them were marked with bonus Box Tops so I came away with 2 dozen box tops for my son’s school as well. Also, the Soft Soap sizes didn’t match up with the coupons for me, but $.88 is still probably a pretty good price.
Jill says
We have a SaveMart which rarely has great deals but this week they beat Safeway with a Quaker deal: Buy 5 select Quaker items and they are $1.39 each. Included in this deal are Quaker instant oatmeal, Quaker chewy granola bars, Life cereal, Cap’n Crunch and Crunch Berries, Oatmeal Squares, and Aunt Jemima pancake mix. There was a coupon in the 1/3 paper for $1.00/2 on the Aunt Jemima. I’m going to buy 10 boxes and with 5 coupons it will be $8.90 for 10 boxes!
Christy says
Just a heads up that you may have trouble using $1/1 coupons for the Honey Nut Cheerios and Quaker Oatmeal…at my Safeway in Oregon they would not take these because they exceed 50% of the product’s value (in their coupon policy it says “We will not accept Printable Coupons for more than 50% of a product’s value”). Since the cereals were $1.50 each, they would not take the printables ๐
admin says
Christy I made that note at the bottom of the post.
admin says
Jill I usually do a few highlights from Savemart on Wednesdays.
Caitlin says
There is a 50 cent coupon for Sargento cheese (5 oz or larger) in the 1/3 SS. You can use this with the 55 cent December 2009 All You coupon (p. 152) to get 2 packs of cheese for 1.80 ๐
admin says
Sweet. I am totally stocking up on cheese this week.
Amy says
FYI-
Sargento string cheese etc. not included, baked lays not on BOGO sale, Barilla Plus not included in the $.99 sale.
Thanks for your site! LOve, LOve it!!
bunnydash says
Barilla Plus not $0.99, darn. I have $1.00/2 Barilla Plus, so no big loss. However, I have $1/1 Sargento Qs, yay!
amy t. says
I think the sargento coupon in the ss is for string cheese. The all you one is for slices.
bunnydash says
My SS Sargento says Save $1.00 on 1 package of Sargento Natural Cheese Snacks (Any variety, 5oz or larger). Exp 3/15/10. Has a picture of string cheese and pepper jack on it.
Question: On the BC fruit snacks, if you buy more than 4, does the next one go back to regular price? (ie, buy 5). What if you buy it in sets of 4?
Sheila Capell says
I just did the BC fruit snacks deal…WOW, what a DEAL!! So it started bad, and I would not recommend trying to do too many transactions at one time. I had no kiddos with me and decided to do 8 transactions…I asked the cashier first if it was ok, she looked at me and asked why? I told her honestly why and she then looked at my stack of coupons and said, “Oh, no, we can’t take your photocopied coupons” (sign) BAD START! After all is said and done and after two different mgrs coming over and reading and re-reading my q’s I got my boxes of fruit snacks and it was a GREAT COUPONING DAY!! They did tell me, “It might not be like this next time you come in. Our coupon policy doesn’t say how many transactions you can do…we’re working on changing that” —LAME!! I’ve never heard of a store limiting your transactions!! I would have totally gone to the end of the line EVERY time if they wanted me to.
Bunnydash–I did try and do the deal with 5 and it charges you $2 if it’s not in increments of 4’s. So I wouldn’t suggest doing it. Although, it WILL print out $3.50 catalina if you buy 5 or more boxes…so do what works for you.
Some of transactions were less than 2.50 with e-coupons and printables, so I just added an orange to the transaction to get to use my 2.50 cat.
Good luck everyone, this IS SO GREAT!!!
Sheila Capell says
Oh, and to clarify, if you buy 8 in one transaction, you only get one $3.50 catalina.
Sheila Capell says
…but once you hit 8 you are paying only $1 per box again. (because it’s in increments of 4) –whew!
admin says
Ok Sheila next time if you can go to self check out I would do that. Personally I have done 4 transactions in the past but I don’t like to call attention to myself so what I do is a max of 2 transactions. Then I take the bag to the car. Come back and do 1 or 2 more. While you aren’t doing anything wrong I just find it easier to fly under the radar and not have any hassle. If you had a super coupon friendly store it might be different but in my experience Safeway has not been that coupon friendly to me.
bunnydash says
Thanks so much for the detailed info, Sheila! I will make sure to do the M/M in sets of 4. ๐
Soooo, wish we had SCO at my local store.
Michelle says
a couple of days ago i went to safeway and during checkout i wanted to use internet coupons, but the cashier told me they didn’t except internet coupons anymore. that sucks i really wanted to do the buy 4 get $4 deal :[
Julie says
Just a heads up that my store in Chico Ca only had 2 and 8 Lever 2000 bars of soap packs so the $.88 deal was only for the 2 bar pack which is an ok price, but doesn’t qualify for the coupon. Great fruit snacks deal and cereal deal though. I came away with 4 fruit snacks, 4 boxes, of cereal, and a bag of pears and paid a little over a dollar. Thanks Charlene
Sheila Capell says
SELF CHECKOUT!! Never would have thought of that!! I’m not sure if mine has one, but I’m def. checking that out. I learned a lot today through my experience and think i’ll do what you do next time and ‘fly under the radar” :8 Thanks for the tips!
Carrie W. says
I love self-checkout at Safeway. It makes it so easy for me to make sure all of my coupons are getting credited. At mine, the checker that “supervises” self-checkout has to come scan any coupons $2 or over (I think it was $2, I need to double-check next time), but once the machine called her over and she told me what why, I just held back all the rest of my big ones, so she had to come over only one more time at the end. But I didn’t have a single problem with any of my coupons scanning. I also learned a few nights ago that late at night (my Safeway is open till 1 a.m.) none of of the self-checkouts are open. And of course, I learned this during one of my rare “bigger” Safeway shops. One line open – an express lane, no less, which technically I didn’t even belong in! – and everyone in the store is buying just a few items, and there I am with my cartful of stuff and stack of coupons! But, I let a couple people go in front of me, and then by the time anyone came up behind me, I was thankfully more than halfway through being checked out, so I don’t think anyone minded/noticed. Lesson learned, though! I’m glad I wasn’t trying to do multiple transactions – I don’t think it would have flown! ๐
Amy says
If you buy the Quaker instant oatmeal, be sure to check the inside of your box. Mine had over $5.00 in coupons including a .75/1 instant oatmeal and $1.00/2 Life cereals, and now I am going back again! Also included:
.75/1 Rice snacks
.75/1 True Delights
.50/1 Grits
$1.00/2 Chewy Granola Bars
.55/1 Oatmeal to Go Breakfast Bars
Jordan says
I went to my safeway in Chico tonight and did 2 transactions, first was 4 boxes of fruit snacks and the total was .60! The checker was annoyed at me because she couldn’t figure out why it was so cheap and said she’d probably get in trouble ๐ I knew it was because of 3 e-coupons that were on there but didn’t want to say anything. Also she said they couldn’t use 2 of the same coupons in one transaction so I had to mix/match the fruit snacks so as not to use the exact same $1/1 coupons. Just a heads up if your store gives you trouble with this. All in all I got 8 boxes of fruit snacks, 2 sargento cheeses, juice (on clearance), fresh spinach, 4 pears, 6 bananas, strawberries and paid $11 and got 2.50 back, so worth it! Oh, and by the way my Annie’s mac & cheese was not on sale for .99 for some reason, and I didn’t want to push my luck.
Laura Williams says
I just got back and wanted to report the in box coupons for the oatmeal at my store were in the lower sugar maple brown sugar instant oatmeal and the cinnamon swirl high fiber instant oatmeal.
An awesome deal!!!
admin says
Hey Jordan check your ad because it was on the space that says .99 sale and had a box pictured. I think this is a nationwide price so maybe double check! Awesome job on your shopping!
Peggy says
I wanted to respond to Christy – I am in Oregon, too and they took my $1/1 Quaker Coupons – I have double coupons, too, and I got 3 boxes of Quaker Instant Oatmeal for FREE and bought a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch for $1.50 to make up the 4 boxes.
Kim Garroutte says
To the poster who wondered if the 5th item goes back to regular price, the answer is YES. My son works at Safeway. Did you know Safeway empoloyees get 10% off Safeway brands? That’s a nice plus for me (he’s a minor). Also, if you have more than one ecoupon for the same product and a MQ and a store coupon they will all stack (I didn’t know this until I got an item for free. I have found out who the most coupon-friendly checkers are and only go to their registers, even if it is the longest line. They are couponers themselves and I have referred them to this site!

Couple more deals I got today:
– Nabisco Saltines on sale for $2, used $1/1 Nabisco cracker (from this weekend, I think?) and $1/1 Nabisco cracker from the “Make it Tonight” book (thanks MFA for the heads up on that one!) = FREE!
– Eating Right baby carrots on sale for $0.99, used $1/1 baby carrots from safeway.com = FREE!
Thanks everyone!
admin says
Hey Jenna that carrots coupon is for 2lb bags and you got a 1lb bag so it probably shouldn’t have worked. Glad you got so many great deals!
Jenna says
Oh, man, I lucked out then!
