OK you can click HERE to see a super sale at Toys R Us on Friday, November 13 (9am-midnight) and Saturday, 14 (7am to 11pm) only. The highlights are:
Now you can get this guy at Target for $9.99 after the $10 off coupon HERE. OR you can try your luck at price matching at Target to get him for .49- see the details HERE.

I think this is a great deal too- the Playskool Kota the Triceratops is $79.99- I just found this on Amazon for $250!
Does anyone know if this is the same toy that has a $10 off coupon HERE?
The Nerf N Strike is $34.99 and there is a $5 off Target coupon HERE. Since this is a “coupon” from Toys R Us- Target might refuse to price match. You can certainly try though.

Disney Princess of Cars Scooter- 40% off at $23.99. There is a 20% off Target coupon HERE however this is also a Toys R Us coupon in the ad- so Target might not allow price matching.
Did I miss any great deals? These toys can be so confusing!
If you are going to try to price match at Target- you need the actual ad not a printed version. You can call your store and ask if they have them available (since it is posted online I would think you can get it early) OR you can try to hit your store tomorrow. I would think these will also be in many newspapers today.
I have no idea how price matching will work since this is a door busters sale. I would think that Target would only honor the prices during the same sale hours as Toys R Us has listed.
I just called Corporate Target and they said that YES you are allowed to use a coupon with a price match- they gave me a reference number to give the manager if they give me problems, so I would suggest that anyone doing this deal call corporate and get a ref number too. HTH!
Here’s what I just got from Target which shows it does have to be done during the same time of the sale AND you can use a coupon.
Dear Amy,
Thanks for taking the time to ask us about the price matching and coupon acceptance at Target.
We’re able to match the advertised prices from any qualifying competitor with a store in your market/area. Please bring in the local competitor’s entire current ad. The advertised price must be valid at the competitor the day the price match is requested.
Also, we do accept the manufacturer coupon and/or Target coupon to be used with the Low Price Promise Ad Match for a further price reduction. The coupon would need to be presented at time of check out at the register/POS and not given at the Guest Service counter.
We look forward to showing you what’s new at Target.
Sincerely,
Angela

WHOOT!! I haven’t received mine yet but there are going to be a lot of crazy couponers snatching up Leapfrog toys!
Yeah, no kidding!!! I will be there first thing in the morning with my ad in hand. If this works, these things are going to go lightning fast and they are going to regret putting out that coupon. 😉
One more thing…..I just looked at the ad and it says that those deals are for 3pm-midnight on friday and 7am to 1pm on Sat.
Where is this ad? From Sunday’s paper?
Hmm.. It says 9am at the top of the ad and 3pm underneath that. What do you think? The doorbusters are only after 3pm?
That is what it seems like because right on top of the picture of the alphabet pal it says Friday Late – Sat Early. Maybe the times at the very top are their store hours????
Rachel, It is available online. I would think they would have copies in store but you might want to call before making a special trip. If you wait until Sunday to get your paper you will miss the sale since it is tomorrow and Saturday only. You can check your local paper today and see if it is in there.
it’s not in todays paper 🙁
the scooters are already 22 dollars this week at target so no need to price match.
I emailed Target earlier as well. I also inquired about the number of Target coupons I can use per transaction for the same item and about adjusting the value of coupons. She did not answer my question about the number of Target coupons I could use, but she did answer the others. (I am having trouble with my store doing coupon adjustments) Seems to be the same response noted above.
Dear Lindsay Stevens,
Thanks for taking the time to ask us about the price matching and coupon acceptance at Target.
We do accept the manufacturer coupon and/or Target coupon to be used with the Low Price Promise Ad Match for a further price reduction. The coupon would need to be presented at time of check out at the register/POS and not given at the Guest Service counter.
Also, we need the entire printed advertisement/catalog. Photos, photocopies, or mobile phone versions of the ad can’t be accepted as verification of competitive pricing.
Additionally, we can’t give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item; instead, we’ll adjust the value of the coupon to equal the price of the item.
We look forward to showing you what’s new at Target.
Sincerely,
Angela

Woohoo!! Got my personalized letter! Gonna put it in my Target envelope so I always have it. Thanks for all the great tips always!
I got the email response! It came quickly too.
My daughter got the TRU ad with her weekly grocery store ads in Tuesday’s mail. I’m going to go home and check mine.

In Target’s price matching policy, it says that they don’t price match door busters, which is what the sale is at Toys R Us.
This morning I went to two Targets and they would not let me do this deal. However my sister went to a different Target and she was able to get one.
Whitney I just knew this was going to be a mess. I had two friends email me that it worked just fine for them this morning. I think this one is really just luck of the draw.
So are people trying this before 3 pm and it is working then? Maybe i shouldn’t wait until 3 to try????
Okay, I found this….http://pressroom.target.com/pr/news/value/our-low-price-promise-facts.aspx
It doesn’t say anything about door busters being excluded. Or do you see something I didn’t see?
just tried to do the deal and they were very firm on the fact that they dont price match door buster sales…only weekly sales. BOO! they didnt care that i had printed out the policy.
Just got back from Target and did the Leapfrog Alphabet Pal deal with absolutely no problem. This was the first time I price matched anything at Target and it worked like a dream. .53 total for a leapfrog alphabet pal!! I bought one for my 7 1/2 month old for Christmas and one to donate for the angel tree at my church.
Got mine for .53! The gal at Guest Services told me that I should have come to her first (she had to return the Pal and ring it up again). She was very nice and it worked out just fine! I DID have to explain how to ring it up so that it came out to the correct price, but she didn’t mind.
I was able to get 4 Leapfrog Alphabet pals for a grand total of $2.10. I tried to go to a different Target to pick up 2 more for gifts and the lady told me they wouldn’t price match a doorbuster, so it seems kind of hit or miss!
i got 3 of these today too. the woman didnt even really look at the ad, just the price that tru had it.
went to 3 target store 2 of them dont have stock anymore and the 3rd one saying that they only can do one with the target coupon or price match only, thats why they still have a ton in the store, because nobody able to use the deal, BOO
I sent my husband back with the printed email from Amy ( thanks ) and he got the alphabeth pal for $ 10.86 and refund $ 10.00 back so we only pay $ .86 yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
ps: they still have plenty in that Target store in Sacramento-Madison, if u going there dont forget to bring the printed email from AMY above, good luck
I went to 3 targets in the Austin area and all said NO. I called the wonderful 800 number and that was a wrong thing to do. They told me that they dont price match on ANY TRU ad and was also told they do not have a price match policy. I asked for it in writing since there is one on the website and in the store. The guy hung up on me. I was very upset!
I had no problem with them price matching the Up & Monsters inc deal using target coupons and manuf. coupon. The girl must have done it several times when I said I wanted a price match she new the price and didnt really look at the ad.
But I had a problem on a different price match a differnt day. I think it depends on who is at customer service.
As for the policy they have a written one at guest service. When I had the issue I insisted the manager make me a copy so I had it. I also called customer service about the issue.
In the copy I was given at the store The policy cleary says that timed events (e.g., early bird, door busters) are exclusions from a price match.
But no harm in trying.
I work at the guest service desk at Target. I think one of the biggest problems is employees are not trained on the details of price matching or couponing. But since I like to use my coupons I have asked lots of questions and gotten my hands on as many policy handbooks as possible so I know how things work.
You can price match using any ad (I do it with TRU ads all the time). As stated you must have the entire ad. According to the policy stated in the price matching memo Target will only price match weekly ads NOT timed events such as doorbuster sales or 2/3 day sales. Although it seems many of you have gotten lucky with employees who haven’t read the memo.
Target will also accept both a manufacturer coupon and Target coupon per item. The only time they won’t is if they come out negative for the item (at least at my store). Also, don’t forget about price adjustments. SAVE your receipts, if something goes on sale within 14 days of you purchasing it you can go to the service desk with the receipt and have the price adjusted. I see people do this every Sunday morning when the new ad comes out.
If there are every any problems always ask for a manager, they want things to run smoothly and if they aren’t sure they will always rule in the customers favor
I was reading something else about this on another site. Interesting. Your perspective on it is diametric contradicted to what I read before.
