Can I confess?  I have been a little burned out on coupons lately and just haven’t felt like putting the energy into planning my trips properly.  Thankfully we have a lot of stuff in the pantry so it wasn’t a big deal for me to take a little vacation.

I had my $10 CVS bucks from the survey today and I had a $5/15 coupon that was expiring.  I decided to hit CVS and just get a few things that we can use.  Now in Nor CA our ad is totally different than the rest of the country and we get cheated out of pretty much all the good deals.  So we didn’t have the $10 Cover Girl ECB, the ECB for Ragu/Skippy- basically any of the good deals this week.  So here is what I did:

(2) 2L Diet Coke $1.50 each- get $1 ECB when you buy 2
M&Ms $2.50
(2) Nestle Choc Chips $2 each
(2) Flour $1.77 each
CVS tote tag .99
Milk $2.30
Evaporated Milk .99
Marshmellow Fluff .99

I paid $3.58 after $10 ECB and $5 coupon. I got $1 ECB back and since I bake A TON during the holidays- now we have plenty of supplies.

Walgreens $5.16
(4) Snuggle Fabric Softener/ Dryer Sheets $3.50- used (4) $3 coupons
(2) Boxes Cranberries

and I stopped at Raleys on the way back to get the deal on Couscous this week
(4) boxes at $1.50 each and I used (2) $1/2 printables

So the grand total was$4

I will be hitting Costco tomorrow to get a few more things and I have to make my pilgrimage to Walmart to get new deals so I will get real food then!

I hear you on the burnout. Even with those deals I didn’t head out at all yesterday. It was the first sunday in probably 6 months when I didn’t sit and plan my strategy for hours then shop for hours. I have to admit it was wonderful!

I have been a little bummed on some deals lately – guess that is why I have had burnout. My question – what survey did you do for CVS to get $10 in ECB?

I am behind – I was “catching up” on your blog and found the article about the survey. Thanks for all your work!

I’m in NoCal too.. in the Bay Area. Where are you located? I was wondering bout those ECB’s and why I didn’t see it in my flier 🙁 Sucks… so I guess besides the Ragu/Skippy not having ECB’s, the Glade and General Mills cereal doesn’t produce ECB’s for us either huh? Does the CVS price scanner machines tell you what products you’ll get ECBs like Target tells you what products gives you gift cards?

Yes and I was shocked at how many deals we were cheated out of. Bah! I am in Sacramento.

First Sunday in months I didn’t head to CVS.
