I know nothing about these types of things- I don’t have a cell phone nor do I have an iPod (shocking, I know!) But there is a deal on Amazon today for an iTouch at $158. Apparently this is the older version and the software needs to be upgraded once you buy it- so not a great deal after all.
You can get the newer version-3rd Generation-for $23 more HERE with newer technology and you don’t have to do the upgrades.
Feel free to tell me if I am wrong in the comments- it won’t hurt my feelings. This is all over the net as a super hot deal at $158 but you might want to think about it before pulling the trigger!
I’m no expert either but I think my husband has the older version and the upgrade only cost $4.95 from itunes.
I don’t have a cell phone either!!! Glad to know I’m not the only one, lol. I am home most of the time and just think it’s silly to have one, if I do go out and think I may need a phone I take my husbands work phone with me. My aunt is getting this for her boyfriend for Christmas I will pass on the deal! Thanks So Much!
Target has a better deal on this!!!! its 195 and on the website it has a 10% coupon making it 175.50 but wait you also receive $15 gift card! so net cost is 160.50 + taxes!!! still cheaper than amazon and it should be 3rd generation!!!
I looked at Target and the cost was $207 after taxes and shipping. Did you order it? So with the gift card it still wasn’t quite as good. I couldn’t get the coupon to work but I will try again.
My husband bought me the iPod touch (2nd Gen) at the beginning of this year. When they came out with 3rd Gen, I think it cost $9.95 to upgrade. I can’t remember the exact price, but it beat buying a new one since we already had one. If a difference of really $13 ($23 – $10 upgrade) doesn’t matter, then I’d go with the 3rd gen. Otherwise I’d say get the 2nd gen for a gift then toss in say a $15 or so iTunes gift card. It’d cover the upgrade cost PLUS leave some left over for apps, music, or whatever else they’d like to get from iTunes. There’s a LOT out there for iPhone/iPod touch users. Lots of fun little apps that cost just $.99 or a single song you like instead of the whole album
