I am a big fan of activity mats- both of my girls have loved the activity mat we have. Activity mats tend to be a little expensive but in my opinion have definitely justified the price!
I was excited to try the Lamaze Play House Gym because it has so many cool features to grow with your child. It is designed for infants to 2 year olds. In my opinion, the best feature of this mat is that it folds up into a compact little square. So easy to store! Our old activity mat took up a ton of space and was awkward to store. This one turns into a little case and everything fits right inside- plus it has a little handle to make it that much easier!
This is a four in one mat- so it changes as your baby develops. You can use it for an infant to lay and play, then it partially folds up for tummy time, once your baby can sit up the mat is reversable and has brightly colored designs to keep things interesting and for toddlers it folds into a little house to play with! Our other mat was really just for laying and playing- so this one had a lot more options to keep baby engaged.
I can tell you my toddler liked the little people that are included. She keeps taking them off the mat and dragging them around the house. Maya responded very well to the mirror when we partially folded the mat. There is a large sun included with the mat that lights up and sings. I loved that it was detachable and I was able to actually put it on the stroller to keep Maya entertained during a walk. You can set it to continuous play or it is baby activated with a little jiggle.
I also had a guest tester- a friend brought her three month old over and I was checking prices on Amazon before she left! Her baby was quiet and engaged for twenty minutes- which is quite a feat!
So this mat is an especially good choice for moms on the go or in limited spaces. It doesn’t take up nearly as much room as most mats- yet offers all the same features. This is easy to fold up and take with you just about anywhere and is light as a feather. I also love that it is reversable to give you even more bang for your buck! The mat is easily wiped off or machine washable. Overall I really liked this product and it is made of the softest material you will find.
