New Coffeemate Printable

coffee cup

I happen to love Coffeemate creamer.  I go through a ton of it since it takes a lot of coffee to keep the MFA machine running.

There is a new printable HERE (zip 19543) for $1 off Coffeemate.  I can tell you these come along just about never so grab it while you can!  The little sizes are regularly $1.79 at Target and as low as $1.50 at Walgreens every few weeks.

Thanks Shannon!

Grocery Price Book

10/28/2009

menu- jen_maiserjen maiser

I get a lot of questions about what my personal buy prices are for specific items.  Some people (that are more organized than I am) actually have little books that they keep track of prices in.  Then they know exactly what the lowest price is on specific items.  Usually I just have prices in my head.  I don’t like to share my prices because I really think buy prices vary so much according to your specific situation.  For example, my buy price for 32 oz loaves of cheese is $5.00.  That is pretty much the lowest it gets around here and I actually make a trip to Costco to get that price.  In this week’s Safeway ad, they have 32 oz loaves of cheese for $3.99 in the Northwest.  So clearly the buy price there would be much lower.

I think the prices change as well according to your needs.  I have 2 girls in diapers- so my buy price for Jumbo packs used to be $4.  That was managable when I just had one kiddo to worry about.  Now that I have two in diapers I raised the price to $6.00 since I need to find double the deals.  It also depends on your time.  If you simply don’t have the time to visit more than one store a week than your prices might be a little bit higher than other people.

So I don’t think it is neccessary to focus on every single item you buy.  But you might take a look at the items you consisently buy (like diapers) and try to determine what a great price is in your area.  Also, I am a vegetarian so we don’t get very fancy around here with proteins.  I asked my friend Shannon to share her prices for meats.  This was actually great information for me as well.  Since proteins are a huge part of your weekly budget- this can easily help shave some money off your weekly budget by trying to stick to the prices she has outlined for us.

Beef

  • 93% Lean Ground Beef $2.25/lb
  • 80% Ground Beef $1.59/lb
  • Ground Chuck $1.99/lb
  • London Broil $1.99/lb
  • Rump Roast $2.99/lb
  • Pot Roast $2.29/lb

Poultry

  • Boneless Chicken Breast $1.99/lb
  • Whole Chickens $.89/lb
  • Chicken Quarters $.79/lb
  • Split Chicken Breast $.99/lb
  • Chicken Thighs/Drumsticks $.79/lb

Pork

  • Porkchops (boneless) $1.99
  • Pork Tenderloin $2.99
  • Pork Butt $1.49
  • Pork Cased Sausage $1.19
  • Porkchops (bone in) $1.59

So thanks to For the Mommas for creating this list.   I am actually going to print this out and keep in in my coupon pouch so I know when I am getting a good deal!

Nor CA Grocery Updates

pineapple at safeway

I am taking a quick look at the Safeway ad for Nor CA- the deals are listed HERE but these are based on the NW ad.

A few notes:

Pineapple is $1.99- I am hoping it is Del Monte so we can use the .75/1 HERE (I’d print this one now just in case!)
Our Lucerne 32 oz Cheese is $5.99 not $3.99 (I just got Tillamook at Walmart for $5.78- better cheese and better price!)
Sadly, we got cheated out of the great meat sale with $1.49 chicken and ground beef etc.. I was really looking forward to stocking up. Boo!
And the 10 lbs of potatoes are not in our ad for .98 but I just got 10 lbs at Walmart for $1.87

Due to the fact that Safeway was such a stinker- I took a quick look at other stores. Here are a few highlights:

NUGGET MARKET:
Fresh Boneless Chicken Breast $1.77
Pork Chops $1.77
Grapefruit .50

**Reader Monica sent in THIS coupon for a FREE salad at Nugget with $10 purchase!  (Thanks Monica!)

WHOLE FOODS:
California Pizza Kitchen Pizza $4.99
Use $1/1 HERE
Final price: $3.99

Kettle Chips $2
Use $1/1 from 9/20 SS
Final Price: $1 (same at Raleys)

SAVEMART:
Lean Ground Beef $1.59 (3lbs or more)
Roma Tomatoes .47/lb

Tombstone Pizzas $2.49
Use $1.50/2 from 9/27 SS
Final Price: $1.74 each

Fresh Express Spinach Salad .99

This is just a quick overview of what jumped out at me. Let us know what great deals you see!

New Starbucks Coupon

starbucks coupon

I got a coupon HERE this morning for $1 off Starbucks coffee at any grocery store.  Now my Safeway has Starbucks kiosks inside the store AND they offer a free Latte when you buy a bag of coffee.  I just ordered a free gift card to Starbucks using my Swagbucks so my plan is to try and buy the coffee at the kiosk- use the coupon and get a free Latte!  I’ll let you know if it works!

Remember there are specially marked bags of Starbucks coffee that offer a free brewed coffee when you bring in your empty bag.  Be on the lookout for those bags!
