I ran into Rite Aid as I am on the last of my contact solution (from the same rebate they ran last summer) and we needed trash bags. Here is my transaction that should net $7+ profit:
Renu Twin Pack $9.99- used $2 coupon
Zantac $4.99- used $3 coupon
Trash Bags 2/$6
Used $5/20 Rite Aid coupon from HERE
Total was $12.71 after tax and I will get $9.99 and $4.99 from Rite Aid for the Renu & Zantac plus $5 from Zantac for the manufacturer mail in rebate. So I will get $19.98 back. For the coupon match ups click HERE.
One note- with Rite Aid I always submit my receipt right away and confirm the rebates have been accepted before I do anything else. In this situation I paid $1.99 and will get $5 back anyway from the manufacturer so I would probably keep the Zanatc regardless. But if I accidentally purchased the wrong item I want to be sure the rebate goes through before I mail off my receipt for the manufacturer rebate.
This is a great example of how you can layer coupons and rebates to really maximize savings. In the scenario above I used:
*Store Coupon
*Manufacturer Coupon
*Store rebate
*Manufacturer rebate
By combining all of those offers I was able to not only buy things we needed for free but also turn a profit. Our family doesn’t need the Zantac so it will go straight into the donation box.
Don't both rebates require the original store receipt?
I just wanted to let you know that I purchased the Renu twinpack at RiteAid and I liked it so much, I printed out two more $1/1 coupons and got the travel size at Target. Well, I popped one open and I found a $2.50/1 12 oz. or larger coupon! I'll save them for another great sale! If somebody hasn't used the Renu rebate yet, they could go to Target for the travel size with 1/1 coupon, then take the 2.50/1 (doesn't say it has to be a single bottle) to RiteAid for a 2.50 moneymaker.

I did the exact same thing with rebates, plus a few items! Great deals!
