WFMW: Organize Your Car Edition

06/30/2009

Share

I decided to participate in Orgjunkie’s Monthly Organizing Round-up, which focused on organizing your vehicle. I wanted to use this as my weekly WFMW post as well since I think it is a constant challenge when you have littles to keep the car clean.

Here are a few things that work for us (most of the time).

THE SNACK BAG

This has bottles of water, an extra bottle and premeasured formula for the baby, as well as a few snacks for my toddler (and for mom on busy days). I keep granola bars, crackers, rice cakes etc.. in snack bags. This is kept right behind the drivers seat so it is easily accessible in case of a toddler melt down.

TOTE BAGS

I have at least 10 tote bags that I take everywhere. I used to have a problem remembering them but now I consider the bags part of putting away the groceries. Once everything gets put away, the last step is to put the bags back in the car. I keep them all folded and tucked into a big tote.

DIAPER BAGS

I find it easier to have one bag for my toddler and one for my infant. I keep all the neccessities in each bag as well as swimming diapers and a few toys. Since most of our friends and family have pools, I never have to run home to get her things if we want to stop off at someone’s house. I also keep a thick blanket in the trunk area so I have a comfortable spot for diaper changes on the road. It is also easier to toss this in the washing machine after taking our dog to the park or the lake.

So that is it! Not very exciting but that is what works for me to stay clean and organized in the car. The only thing I want to add is a first aid kit. I posted last week about my obsession with reusing wipes tubs and got a tip to use a wipes tub in the car to hold first aid supplies. Genius!

For more organizing tips check out Orgjunkie and for more great ideas check out Works for Me Wednesday.

Free 7Day Trial of Sitter City

06/30/2009

Share

Sitter City

Click here for a free 7 Day trial to Sitter City. It is a service that helps match you with prescreened babysitters, housesitters, nannies, tutors or pet sitters. It is a no strings attached trial period and you won’t be billed after the 7 days expire.

Seems like a good way to test drive the service and get a feel for the pricing and quality of candidates in your area.

Now 7 days of free babysitting would be a really great offer.

If you need charcoal for your holiday BBQs check your 6/28 issue of Red Plum for a $4 off coupon.

Take that coupon to Safeway July 1-4 and combine it with the $5.99 in ad coupon to get a 13.5 lb bag for $1.99! Then use this coupon to get $6 off pork when you purchase 13.5 lbs of Kingsford plus one other item including: Vlasic Pickles or Relish, BallPark Franks, Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing, Glad Products, or KC Masterpiece.

Here is a deal idea:

Buy 13.5 lb Kingsford ($1.99 after both coupons)
AND (2) Ball Park Franks ($.99 each- use $1/2 from 6/28 SS= $.98 for two)
Pay $2.97 for the charcoal and 2 packs of hot dogs AND get $6 off any purchase of pork products!
(Pork shoulder is .99/lb or Boneless Pork Shoulder Ribs are $1.29/lb.)

OR
If you have the coupon from 5/10 RP for a FREE KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce when you buy Kingsford Charcoal you will pay $1.99 total for BBQ Sauce, Charcoal and get $6 of free pork.

OR head over to Raleys starting tomorrow where 13.5 lb of Kingsford will be $6.99.
Use the $4 off coupon and pay $2.99. They are offering a FREE KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce with purchase of charcoal, which is a participating item!

So pay $2.99 for charcoal and BBQ sauce and get $6 off any pork purchase.
Pork Country Style strips are on sale for $1.49/lb.

Thanks to Jennifer P. for sending me this great pork coupon!

PS: If you need propane, don’t forget the BLUE RHINO propane rebates I told you about here.

I was very excited to get two boxes of these delicious new Chex Mix turtle bars in the mail. Since I am trying to shed the post baby weight, I was happy to see each bar is only 150 calories.

They are full of my favorite pretzel/chocolate combo as well as caramel, peanuts and whole grains.

Thanks to MyBlogSpark, I also have two boxes each for two different winners. Yeah!

To enter just leave a comment below about anything you’d like.

To gain additional entries follow me on twitter, add me to your blog roll or subscribe to my feed (or let me know if you already do!) and get one additional entry for each. Please leave seperate comments for each entry.

I will randomly choose TWO winners on Sunday July 5th at 5pm.
