Hi Anon, Thanks for pointing that out– I figured it out when I did this deal today. Too bad my cruddy store only had 2 cans of the ageless left.
The cashier of the store I went to get the Aveeno sunscreens told me that I can’t use the $5/25 coupon on them because it’s not $25 AFTER all the manufacture coupon used. She went on and said that I have to spend at least $25 in total AFTER coupons in order for me to get the $5 off!!! ๐
diana. that makes me so mad! i hate stinky cashiers! you have a few options- you can just go back and go to a different cashier, call rite aid corp and complain- i just got coupons from target for this exact same thing- or call and ask to speak to the mgr of the store and explain that he is losing a customer because of his rude and poorly trained cashiers. ok maybe say it a little nicer :). i hate to let things like this go as we spend way too much time planning these great deals to have some lady with an attitude mess it up. let me know if you decide to do something and how it works out!
Diana,
I am not sure what $5/25 you are talking about but check it out on-line. Some rebates (like the tote & coupon deal) say rebate base on actual price paid, but some do not like rebate #40 Purchase $25.00 Worth of Any Variety: Aveeno Hair & Suncare get $10.00 Rebate, Valid From: 05/31/09 To: 06/27/09 Submit By: 07/27/09 Limit: LIMIT ONE (1) $10.00 REBATE, so you might go online, use their tool to make a shopping list based on SCR and print it off include one that has APP requirements so you can show the cashier. I think the address for the online list is ttps://riteaid.rebateplus.com/rebatelistpage.asp?categories=all&from=shp&jse=yes
$10 off is a better deal anyway, so tell her thanks for saving you an extra $5 lol.
Thanks for all the match-ups and the Rite-Aide coupon.
Hi Jordan, Thanks for the great comment and link. I think Diana was refering to the $5 off a $25 purchase coupon from Rite Aid. She wanted to use that before manufacturer coupons and rebates to save even more on this deal.
I am a little disapointed and excited that I have no idea what you're talking about, lol. I am going to go to rite-aid and see if I can get my hands on one of those!
Jordan, Look at the very top of the post and you will see a link to print a coupon for $5 off any $25 purchase at Rite Aid. I guess all that text tends to blur together sometimes :).
If you submit the Rite Aid $5 off a $25 purchase coupon prior to submitting all of the other coupons, the register will give you your $5 credit automatically without having to deal with a cashier that does not understand what you are attempting to accomplish.
My Rite Aid told me that they can only accept 1 'internet' coupon! So they only accept my $5/$25 coupon, plus any I have cut out from papers etc, but none that I print myself online! She even printed out a copy of this 'policy'. Anyone else have this issue? I am going to try a different store next time…
So you hate "stinky" cashiers? SOME coupons read (Please try to pay attention) "$5 off your purchase of $50, AFTER ALL DEDUCTIONS HAVE BEEN TAKEN" That means other deductions (2 for 1, manuf. coupons, etc.) must be applied first. Don't blame the "stinky" cashier for DOING HER JOB. Tell me WHY an honest cashier should get fired in this economy just so you frugal ladies can save your "stinky" 5 dollars. Thank you very much.
My post may have sounded harsh, but I can't tell you how many times customers try to bully us into bending rules or giving discounts that we are not authorized to give. On the other hand, if we have a coupon or special that can help the customers out, I gladly offer it so they can get the best price. I do make myself aware of what sales/coupons/specials are available from week to week so I can do my job well, and be helpful to the customers. Unfortunately, common courtesy is not always a two way street in retail.
