So for try This Thursday, I wanted to try a recipe from Family Circle’s Bargain menus. I spotted a recipe in the May issue for Sloppy Joe’s and thought it would be a great way to use up the free Bertolli pasta sauce I have been getting at Safeway. I have to say these turned out- shall we say- not good? This could be unfair as I have never made a sloppy joe in my life. I know people like them but it sounds so unappealing to me. My husband said it turned out OK (which is code for nasty) and I didn’t want to waste a Boca burger to try a vegetarian version.
I did get a chance to bake this amazing bread I spotted on Happy Housewife. It turned out really delicious and was a perfect way to enjoy the Seville Marmalade I bought earlier this week. Crystal had success with this recipe too and is freezing these rolls. So try this but not the other ๐

I tried the Bertolli Mushroom I think.
I thought it was too strong a flavor.
Maybe I’m too used to a bland jarred kind???
I can’t imagine it making tasty sloppy joes.
I have made sloppy joes from scratch, rather than a can sauce, and I liked it better.
One recipe from an old cookbook, added some shredded cabbage even, which is a neat way to sneak it to kids.
