Coffee 3 Bags $3 + commuter mug

03/24/2009

Share

Gevalia coffee is offering a new subscriber promotion. When you sign up receive 3 samples of their delicious coffee for $1 each in the mail along with a free stainless steel commuter mug. Shipping is free so you get everything for $3 total.
You can cancel your membership at any time and keep your coffee and mug. The samples I received were large bags that lasted almost 2 weeks each. I cancelled online right after I received my samples with no problem at all. It took about 2 weeks to get my order and about 10 seconds to cancel.
I have to say the coffee is really, really good. This would make a nice addition to a gift basket if you aren’t a coffee drinker. If you want to sign up click here.

Happy Anniversery to Me!

03/24/2009

Share

I got an email from Fast Fixin this morning congratulating me on my 1 year anniversary of being in the club. They attached $1/1 coupons with the email.
While that may not be terribly exciting- what is exciting is remembering the great Dino-bites heist at Walmart which was the first coupon deal I every did! If you missed out on this deal I won’t rub it in- if you scored this deal have you eaten all your nuggets yet?

I have been a couponer for a little over a year now and I can’t even begin to imagine how much our family has saved. I stopped keeping track awhile ago but I can tell you before our baby we used to spend about $100-$120/ week plus another $60 or so at Costco every month. Conservatively our budget for 2 people was $500/month. That did not include HBA as I was shopping department stores back then. This month I have challenged myself with $30/week for everything (including the baby and dog). That is roughly $120 in March- or about 25% of what we used to spend. I don’t have the department store products anymore but I do have an entire basket of makeup I got free that I can play with anytime. I never have to rush out to the store when I run out of something and pay an outrageous amount. I am very pleased to be able to really stretch our dollars and stay home with our little girl. Learning to coupon has been a fun and profitable hobby for me and I hope for you as well!

Safeway: You Win Some, You Lose Some.

03/24/2009

Share

I went into Safeway today to test the Bertolli promotion I posted about last night. It DID NOT work for me! It was reported working in CA but did not work today in Nor CA. My store was also down to the last Huggies tub so I had to adjust my plan in store. (I hate that).

The prices listed are after the Buy 10 get $5 off promo to simplify.

(6) Bertolli Pouches $1.50 each = $9.00- (6) $1/1 blinkies= $3.00

(1) Huggies Tub $2.00 – $1.25/MQ = .75

(1) Del Monte Veg = .75

(1) Pepsi 2L= .75

(1) Eating Right 2lb Carrots. $2.00- $1/1 Safeway q for Eating Right products

=$6.83

I decided to keep the pasta sauce since it is an easy crock pot meal for after the baby comes. I put boneless chicken breast in the crock, add the mushroom sauce and dinner is ready. This can be added to pasta or served alone with a green salad.
Also a stockpile tip- if you buy several of one item that has a container from the manufacturer- like I did with the Bertolli- you might as well take the container with you. They spent a lot of time and money figuring out the best way to display their products and take up the least space possible. Take advantage- it will be much easier to organize your own shelves at home.
