Glucerna Back Again!

03/21/2009

Share

Thanks to Money Saving Mom on this great tip to get even more Glucerna cereal for free. This is a great item for your dination box if you don’t know someone that is diabetic.

Looks like Walgreens is offering a $2.50 catalina on 2 boxes. Don’t forget to submit your receipts to Caregiver’s for another $1 per box rebate.

HOT Huggies deal at Safeway

03/21/2009

Share

Tubs of Huggies Baby Wipes are part of the Mix and Match promo which basically takes .50 off each item when you purchase 10 items in the promo total. There are so many incredible deals to be had as many items start at 1.25 and go up to $2.50 (and you take .50 off on top of that).

I found the Huggies Gentle Care tubs of wipes 64ct priced at $2.00 (after the .50 discount as I bought 9 other assorted items). If you have any manufacturer q’s this can be a great deal. I had a $1.25/1 Huggies Bath and Body coupon. The Bath and Body coupons work for wipes as well as shampoos etc.. So I bought one tub for .75 after promo and coupon. This makes each wipe .011- which is significantly better than my normal .02 buy price. My store only carries one tub but you might also find the varieties that have 72 count.

If you have the $5/1 Gentle Care IPs from a few weeks ago, many people are getting overage on these wipes or you might be able to just buy 3 tubs = $6.00- $5/1= $1 for 3 tubs. Also check your packages of Huggies diapers as I often find .60/1 or .75/1 coupons stuck to the inside.

Hershey’s Caramel Chocolate stocks on clearance for $1.15- used .75/1 MQ

Total after club card and before coupons was $52.95- including the $5.00 off I got for purchasing 10 items from the Mix and Match sale. I used a $10 catalina from my last Chill at Home transaction and I had a $10/50 coupon for a store remodel promo. You can still get a great deal without this coupon by having 10% off added to your club card. This would have given me $5.30- not as good as the $10 but still a great deal! If you are in an area with doubles you can really clean up on these promos! Good Luck!

5 Days of Baby Planning, Part 3.

03/20/2009

Share

Another tip I have for mommies preparing for your new baby is to set up your college accounts early! The photo above is most (not all) of the clothing my little girl has grown out of in the last 20 months. The vast majority of these items were purchased as gifts from our baby shower.
There is a easily hundreds of dollars worth of items- many of which she never even wore. We had so many generous friends and family members and in addition to telling people about our registries and such, we also told them about the college account we set up. This is an especially good idea if you are having a baby close to the holidays where another round of gifts is likely to arrive. Most people will want to purchase “fun stuff” like clothing and toys, but it is always nice to also give them an opportunity to really contribute to your child’s future.

We are still debating a 529 plan so we have an ING account set up for our little lady and will set a second account up for #2. I have posted about ING in the past, but basically it is an online bank that offers a higher interest rate than most brick and mortar banks. It is FDIC insured and a very simple, safe way to keep your money. This time last year we had 4.5% interest on our savings and unfortunately it has gone down to 1.5%. That is still one of the highest rates I have seen around.

If you are interested in opening an ING account email me for a referral number that will give you an extra $25 sign up bonus.
